As of this morning, the *Washington* area got hit by a magnitude 3.6 earthquake. The epicenter apparently was less than 5 miles from my house. It lasted 8 seconds, and woke me up at 5am (it's a terrible curse being a light sleeper). According to local radio, the last earthquake we had here was a tiny one in 1993.
